1. Doug welcomed everyone to the 2026-27 school community council. Introductions were made of everyone in attendance.
2. Cherrie Howe's name was put forward as president. Doug made a motion for Cherie to be president. Cliff 2nd the motion. All present approved.
3. The Rules of Order were reviewed. Cherrie motioned to approve, Cliff 2nd the motion, and all present approved.
4. Doug reviewed the Trustlands and School Improvement Plan. He also talked about the amendments to the plan that needed to be made. Cliff made a motion to approve the amendments. Shanda 2nd. All present approved.
5. There will be Community Council training by the district in October. It will be a Zoom meeting. An email will be sent out with a link before the meeting.
6. Community Council meetings will be held the third Thursday of the month at 7:00am to 7:30 am in the conference room.
7. Other: Shanda asked about the change to HERO hour in the morning. It is working well, and has better participation. Shanda also asked how the new cell phone policy is going. Doug stated that it is working well and kids are having more interactions with each other. There hasn't been much push back from parents or students.
8. Cliff made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Justin 2nd the motion.

Next meeting will be October 15, 2026
Amendment: Cliff Parkinson's name was put forward for Vice-Chair. Via an email vote all have approved.
