1. Randy welcomed everyone to the meeting. Brief introductions were done.
2. Randy went over some of the Roberts Rules of Order that the community council will follow. And nominations were given for Chair and Vice Chair. Yasbel is willing to be the chair this year. Wendy 2nd the motion. Amie will be willing to continue to continue as Vice Chair. Liz 2nd the motion. A motion was given to approve the Rules we will follow. Liz motioned to approve. Justin 2nd the motion. All in attendance approved. Michelle will continue as scribe.
3. Randy discussed the school vision and direction which are:
Caring Community, Safe School Environment, High Levels of Learning
4. School improvements were made over the summer. There were new student tables and chairs put into four classrooms. There were new tables and chairs placed in the Media Center. New drain pipes were installed to move water away from the building more effectively. The gym floors were finished. More floor tiles were replaced throughout the building. Cleaning of every classroom was done. The halls were cleaned and waxed. In the ABF building, the remodel is continuing. A new air system was installed to help in one of the classrooms. The main office went through a minor remodel with new carpet, desks, paint and configuration.
6. Some of the current happenings since school has started. There was welcome back assembly, picture day, safety training, school success training during HERO, counselor introductions were made in classes, 9-11 day of service in which kids will go out with their 5th hour class to help clean up the campus. There will be a combined ELL parent night with Lincoln and Canyon elementary 9-22 at Salt Hollow. There should be more information coming out about that. And Parent Teacher Conference on Oct. 2nd 3:30 - 6:30 & Oct. 3rd 8:00 - 11:00 am. The Special Olympics Cache Soccer Tournament will be at Spring Creek on October 14.
7. There is a new School Resource Officer (SRO), Jake Lenord. He will be a great addition to South Cache.
8. The meeting for October will be a district Zoom Community Council training for any community council members who can/would like to attend. The meeting link will be sent out at a later date after we receive it.
Randy motioned to adjourn, it was seconded by Amie.

Ysabel welcomed all members to the meeting.
1. Minutes from September's meeting were reviewed. Cherry motioned to approve. Amie seconded the motion. All in attendance approved.
2. Randy covered the yearly review of digital citizenship at South Cache. The school uses Go guardian to help monitor what students are doing online. It will also send a report of a student does a search or accesses a website that has questionable material. Netsmartz came and did a presentation in the month of October to all English classes talking to students about their online presence.
3. USBE came and did a Title 3 school visit. The report the school received back as positive.
4. Some of the past events were: the art show last Thursday evening, the choir concert last Monday evening, and the guitar concert last night. Today is the end of the 1st Trimester, tomorrow is a teacher transition day, and Monday will be the start of the 2nd Trimester. There will be a food drive next week with a class competition. Also next week is the school musical, Thursday thru Saturday. Student recognition parties will be Nov. 25, Dec. 2, and Dec. 3. Thanksgiving break this year will be Nov. 26-28. There was a presentation from the CEF board of $52,000. This money was received to replace the cupboards in the Band/Orchestra rooms as well as the equipment closet.
5. The district school calendar is being looked at for the 2026-27 school. One option is starting a week later.
6. The process for hiring a new principal for South Cache to start the 2026-2027 year has begun. The new principal should be announced by the end of the week.
7. Brian asked what the council has heard about the boundary changes that will take effect next year. Members shared that there was concern with some Hyrum students being bussed to Heritage Elem. instead of Wellsville Elem. Also there was some concern about Lincoln losing their Title 1 funding because of the change. There has also been concern about moving the DLI programs to different schools and where the DLI program will end up at the high school level.
8. Cherry motioned to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by Ysabel.

Welcome by Ysabel
1. The minutes from the November meeting were reviewed. Yasabel made a motion to approve the minutes. Cherry seconded the motion. All in attendance accepted the minutes.
2. Randy discussed some items that have happened and are going to happen at the school.
There was a food drive before Thanksgiving. It was a great success with many items donated.
The cabinets for the Band and Orchestra room are almost finished. 70% of the old storage has been ripped out. After the concert next week the rest will be taken out. They are scheduled to be installed during the Christmas break, as long as there are no delays.
There was a "Low tardy party" celebrating the students with five or less tardies. 971 were eligible to participate. There was an "Honor Roll" party for students that had at least a 3.66 grade point average first trimester. There were 582 students eligible for this party. There were 320 students that earned a 4.0 that were eligible to participate in a pizza party that was held last week.
Christmas break for students starts December 20th. Students will return to class on January 5th
All music classes went to Ridgeline High School to hear the Utah Symphony perform on December 9th.
The Choir concert will be Tuesday, December 16th at 7:00 pm at Mountain Crest. The Orchestra and Band Winter concert will be December 17th 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm also at Mountain Crest.
There will be a student Christmas assembly on the 19th during 5th hour.
All band, choir, and orchestra kids will be going to Mountain Crest to watch the high school's Christmas Fantasy performance on the 19th at 9:00 am.
Second trimester's parent teacher conferences will be January 15th from 3:30 - 6:30 and 16th from 8:00 - 11:00 am.
3. Randy talked about ongoing school safety
There are monthly safety meetings.
New front door safety locks and camera are being installed. The plan is to have them activated after Christmas break.
There have been some recent fire alarms going off. They have been minor issues. The evacuation of the buildings has gone well. There have been a few things that were discovered because of these drills that have been addressed. The school is required to do one drill a month. These instances have put the school over the number of drills needed.
A safety film was put over the outside door windows.
Each teacher has a crow bar by their desk to use in an emergency like earthquake or intruder. Each classroom has a bucket with some supplies if needed.
5. South Cache Teacher of the year should be announced after the Christmas break.
6. Teacher transitions to the new and existing schools will be announced mid January. With the transition of 6th to the middle schools there are a lot of teacher placements that need to be made.
7. There were no future items to consider.
8. Brittnie motioned to adjourn the meeting. Cherry seconded the motion.
9. The meeting for January has been cancelled. The next meeting will be February 10th.
