Assistant Principal MacKay Manley
I’m honored to serve the South Cache Middle School community as part of the leadership team. My wife and I have lived in Smithfield for 16 years, and we have five daughters in the Cache County School District.
I began my career as a school counselor in Preston, Idaho, and later served as an Assistant Principal and Principal. Most recently, I was an Assistant Principal at Mount Ogden Junior High.
I’m passionate about helping students succeed and enjoy spending time with family, smoking meats, sports, horology, and movies. I look forward to a great year with the Spartan community!

School Support Leader Jonathan Marchant
Mr. Marchant grew up right here in Cache Valley and attended 6th-8th grades in the building now known as South Cache when it was a new school called Willow Valley. He was part of the last class to attend the old South Cache building before it was torn down in 1999. He has been a teacher since 2008, beginning at Box Elder Middle School in Brigham City, and then moving to Spring Creek in 2015 when it was a 6th-7th grade school. He has taught mostly Spanish, with some ESL, Language Arts, and Educational Skills to grades 6-12 over the years. He was thrilled to return to South Cache in 2025 as part of the administrative team!
Mr. Marchant has a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and ESL teaching from USU, a Master’s Degree in Learning and Technology, and another Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. He loves learning! When he isn’t at work, Mr. Marchant enjoys spending time with his family: his wife (who is also a teacher), 3 daughters, 1 son, and Hazel, his Golden Retriever. He also enjoys traveling, making things, and spending time in his workshop or home gym.
Mr. Marchant’s favorite part about working in education is helping students grow and develop into the awesome people they are bound to become.
